Love, the no. 1 most overrated, misused, confusing, powerful, wonderful and all that emotion of all time. Everyone knows about love. Everyone can relate to love. Some even hate the love. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE… It sells movies, inspires many songs, painted many artpieces and many products have been made and sold with the power of love itself. Love single handedly powered this otherwise robotic world into a place of splendour. Love contributes.. to our mental and physic wellbeing and our world’s economy (Sceptics may look into the chocolate shop during valentine’s day).
From the dictionary’s entry (I love quoting the dictionary.. there, LOVE!) which you can find at www.dictionary.com, love is… I’m not gonna copy and paste it here, you clicky here to view though: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/love . Reason: there are…. around 28 meanings which is further proves my point. Love is a verb; Love is a noun; Love is an impact to our lives and world, it’s like those giant meteors that hit the planet Earth. Von’s going sci-fi!!!
Then again, I don’t see the reason for my love posting. Love is boundless and very often, we manage to love something or someone whom we are not supposed to despite trying to control ourselves. Love is one of the most complicated and deepest emotion ever. Psychologically speaking, love is the strongest and deepest positive emotion. Our brains are only programmed to feel one deep emotion so, if you want to battle fear, please love. What I always tell friends who claim to be afraid of ghosts is: If you want to stop fearing, you have to picture the ghost as a motherly figure, looking and loving you.
Haha! Of course, I get shrug off because of the somehow bombastical logic that is but it is true. How did I discover this? Late night ghostly fear which left a lingering effect on me until I switched my song to my favourite song, a song which evokes the emotion of love. That song is a JPOP song called ‘Gift of love’ sung by the all talented Melody. Listen to it to know how it goes and how you feel about it.
Everyone! I mean everyone, has experienced love before at one time of their lives. They may still be experiencing love or they may be so struck by the misusing of love that they now feel a deep fear. Love carries a different meaning for every individual. Ask a five year old kid about love, he’ll probably say: I wuv my doggie and my fishie! Ask a heartbroken teenager, she’ll say: Love’s a bitch. Ask a sceptic: Love is an illusion. Ask me, I’d say: Love is… confusing…
Also, because love is so overly popularised and commercialised, many jump into conclusion that they’re in love but actually, they’re not. Many can imagine how this turns out (insert ‘la’ here to Malaysianise this). The guy goes all distanced and the girl’s all wondering whats going on. And then finally, she confronts him to talk about this and the guy would say that he doesn’t love her anymore (he actually doesn’t love her in the first place). Ah well, we do many things we normally would consider crazy or stupid for love.
This post is dedicated to my dear friends, family members, fans, dog and SWISS CHEESE! (hehehe)
